In a recent article featured on the wine club review site WineClubs.net, it was shown that moderate amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon wine rubbed on a skin mole three times a day for 6 months can actually cause the mole to shrink in size by almost 43%. And while the size reduction and length of time it takes to have an effect are relatively significant, it is comforting to know that red wine has another great purpose in our lives.

While no medical condition should ever just be left to the vices of alcohol, there is merit in the use of wine for improving ones health. In fact, in another article featured on Food & Wine, it was determined that wine actually has 8 major health benefits over beer, spirits or no alcohol whatsoever. These include the following:
- Reduced Heart Attack Risk
- Lower Risk of Heart Disease
- Promotes Longevity
- Significantly Reduces Risk of Type 2 Diabetes
- Lowers Risk of Stroke
- Cuts Risk of Cataracts
- Cuts Risk of Colon Cancer
- Slows Brain Decline
The Mayo Clinic also chimed in on the subject and acknowledged that when red wine is consumed in moderation, it is indeed good for the heart. Plus, all the antioxidants in the wine help reduce heart disease chances by significantly increasing levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, which is most commonly referred to as the “good” cholesterol.
And on a slightly lighter topic, and I’m not referring to Chardonnay, the Vinesse Wine Club actually wrote about the best ways to choose a wine that goes with mole, but they were referring to the kind you put on chicken, not the type that grow on our skin.
